on a personal note, image related, i dominated a crazy workout yesterday. there’s a girl in my class, not sure on her age but she’s in her mid 30s at a minimum - she’s older than me by a fair margin. but she’s my size, we’ve been in the same group for over a year, and she’s athletic, so we partner up all the time and I always lift the same amount and...
One thing I’ve just more or less decided (I’ll just take this from my facebook):
I’ve always liked Anthony Boudain. After spending today reading about him, he’s become one of my heros. One day, I’m going to write a book like this. Well, no, more like Bourdain’s TV show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. Go for the adventure, seek out the food, and learn about...
Anthony Bourdain: Burma farewell →
awellroundedmind:
With the slight relaxation of control by the government of Myanmar, Tony is finally able to explore one of the most fabled and beautiful areas of Asia.
Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown is a great series on CNN. All episodes are available online. This is a link to the first episode, on Myanmar.
The show begins with a Bourdain voiceover saying:
Chances are, you haven’t been...

Don’t spend time making yourself sound important. You won’t fool anyone who matters.

If you feel bad about it, do something about it. Try and make it better. Just sitting there and giving up makes it worse and just saying you feel bad really doesn’t do anything. Whatever though.
if you aren’t going to bed at least a little buzzed, i’m not sure how you are able to handle life.
so, here’s this.

i haven’t been saying as much personal stuff on here. i’m not sure how long that has lasted. it seems like a while for me, whether or not it actually has been a while.
i suppose the fact that it seems like a while to me says something about my mind set. i’m doing better. but no, i’m not ok. or maybe i should say, i’m not ok with it....
i really wish i had the patience to sit down and make my website look presentable. it doesn’t even need to look “good” - just presentable. I can work on the look as i go. but right now, it’s a total mess and i think it’s a waste to write for a website that’s not even done. blah.

You know how you have a really good story, anecdote, or anything of value to share, but for whatever reason you wait or just keep it to yourself? And then, for whatever reason, someone else shares it, and everyone loves it? Well, I felt like that a lot growing up. I hated that feeling. It’s why I think I get so sucked in to social media. And why it’s so hard for me to stay away...

it’s cinco de mayo. i would like someone to go get tacos with. or burritos. or tequila flights. or weird mexican twists on other random drinks. it’s spring, it’s nice out, and the cultural trail is kind of nice to walk on. because just doing random things on random holidays is nice.
blah.
ShortFormBlog: Guantanamo Bay more expensive per... →
shortformblog:
900,000+dollars per year in cost for a detainee at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility. The Pentagon estimates that the facility costs about $150 million to run per year (the prison itself, as well as its military court system), which comes to the above amount when averaged across…
This is pretty damning evidence to me. Is it worth it? I’m not sure either way....
